How to Prepare for Your VelaShape Treatment

We advise you to exfoliate your skin with gentle soap, like Dove, before your sessions. Please come in with clean, dry skin without wearing spray tan, perfume or lotion. You should also shave the areas that will be treated. To prevent the possibility of bruising, please avoid all anticoagulants, such as aspirin, before your treatments and during the entire treatment course if your medical condition permits and according to your physician’s approval.

What to Expect During the VelaShape Treatment

VelaShape treatment sessions take about 20 minutes depending on the area covered and followed protocol. Treatments can be completed once a week or bi-weekly. About 3-6 treatments over the course of 6-8 weeks are needed to see optimal results, depending on the person’s profile and desired goals. It feels like a warm deep tissue massage with suction and minimal discomfort.

Post-VelaShape Care

After your treatment session, you may notice some temporary redness and soreness in the treated areas. Bruising is also possible for sensitive skin types but should resolve in a few days if not less. You can resume normal activities after each session, but you should avoid large meals, drinking alcohol, and direct sunlight for 24 hours after your session. To prevent side effects, you should avoid blood thinners such as ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, or any NSAID. You can apply organic Aloe Vera on the treated areas after your session if you need to.

 

Maintaining VelaShape Results

Results can be seen in as little as one treatment session and are improved over the course of sessions and even weeks after completion. Keep in mind that results vary from person to person and there is no permanent fix for cellulite. You should engage in a healthy lifestyle and diet to help maintain results. We also recommend that you have periodic maintenance treatments every 6-12 months. We offer special prices for our clients for touch-up treatments.

 

Difference between VelaShape II and VelaShape III

VelaShape III is the latest model by Syneron Candela and is five times more powerful than the VelaShape II, due to its increased radio-frequency (RF) energy and closed loop RF mechanism. Ultimately, the VelaShape III can yield better results in less time compared to the VelaShape II.
